Amelia Island is one of the southernmost of the Sea Islands, a chain of barrier islands that stretches along the east coast of the United States from South Carolina to Florida. It is 13 miles (21 km) long and approximately 4 miles (6 km) wide at its widest point. Amelia Island is situated off the coast in Nassau County, Florida, south of Cumberland Island, Georgia. Fernandina Beach and Amelia City are both located on the island.

Amelia Island in North East Florida offers a variety of different fishing venues for locals and visitors. The island is great for surf fishing on the beach, pier fishing from two public piers and one private pier. There is a bridge where anglers can fish the Nassau Sound, and plenty of charter services for inshore and offshore fishing. If you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle it is allowed on a few small areas of the beach, and at the Amelia Island State Park, located on the south end of the Island.
