Along with Conconully Reservoir, immediately southwest, this long, narrow lake provides excellent rainbow trout fishing from the time it opens in late April until about the middle of June. After slowing somewhat in the summer, it comes on strong with hefty strings of trout again in the fall. Although most anglers come here for trout, a growing population of both largemouth and smallmouth bass is starting to interest some anglers. The bass are mostly small, but they will hit leadhead jigs adorned with three- or four-inch plastic grubs, small crankbaits, or spinnerbaits. Fish weedy cover for largemouths and rocky spots for smallmouths.
