3-DAY WEATHER FORECAST:
Located 6 miles SE of Ashland, Emigrant Lake is a reservoir located east of Ashland and formed in 1926 when Emigrant Creek was dammed to store water for irrigation and to provide protection from floods. The name is in honor of nineteenth century emigrants who crossed the Cascade Range over the southern route and came down this stream into the Rogue River Valley. In 1960, the dam was raised to a height of 198 feet and the lake enlarged. It now covers a surface area of 878 acres and holds over 40,000 acre feet of water at full pool.
Emigrant Lake offers a host of activities for the entire family — from an RV park and 42 tent site campground to swimming, picnicking, hiking, boating, canoeing, kayaking and fishing for bass, crappie and trout. Emigrant Lake also offers access for all with ADA* approved facilities throughout the park.
