Fishtrap Lake, WA

Fishtrap offers some of the best early-season fishing in eastern Washington, at least in terms of catch per angler. Anglers catch limits of plump rainbows with uncanny consistency during the first few weeks of the season from late April through May. Stillfish with worms and/or marshmallows, or troll one-quarter-ounce and one-sixth-ounce Panther Martins in black, Rooster Tail spinners in frog or rainbow patterns, or small Flatfish or Kwikfish in a frog finish. Although not heavily fished, the lake now also has brown bullhead catfish for anglers looking for something to keep them busy at night.
