Each year fishermen catch more than 700,000 fish in Fox Lake, including walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, muskie, perch and crappie.  It is known as one of the best walleye lakes in Wisconsin.  The lake has a shoreline of 17.9 miles, a maximum depth of 19 feet and a volume of 198,307.2 acre feet. The lake has six islands that enhance hunting and fishing and aerator lines were added to the lake in 1970 to prevent fish winterkill by providing more oxygen to the water.  In and around Fox Lake, ice fishing, hunting, bird watching, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and relaxing are some of the other recreational activities enjoyed by residents and visitors.
