3-DAY WEATHER FORECAST:
Lake Charlie Capps, formally known as Lake Bolivar County, is well known for its excellent bass fishing. This is a shallow lake that was once only a swamp area until 1963 when a levee system was constructed creating this 512 acre lake. There are many stumps and treetops located in the lake which are good fish attractors. Lake Charlie Capps is also known for its large crappie and a good population of striped bass hybrids. Five fishing piers make fishing from the bank popular. Although the lake is restricted to trolling speed only, the double wide boat ramp can accommodate boats of all sizes. Harvest restrictions are posted at the fishing piers, the boat ramp, and at the lake office. Rulers have also been added with these signs for anglers to measure their fish. Anglers must have a valid fishing license and payment is required at the lake office or the honor box prior to fishing .
