Lake Jennings is located in San Diego County, approx. 20 miles northeast of San Diego. From San Diego take I-8 East to Lake Jennings Park Rd. (67), which is 6 miles past the city of El Cajon. Turn Left (North) and travel 1/4 mile to the lake entrance.

This is a small lake consists of 85 surface acres. Other than catfishing season the lake is normally open 6am to 7pm Fri thru Sun. The open/close time can vary according to sunset/sunrise. During Catfishing Fri is 5pm to 1130pm, Sat 6am to 1130pm, Sun 6am to 8pm. Normally open on holidays 6am to 8pm unless its wintertime. There are campgrounds for tents and RV's at the north part of the lake and a consession stand near the boat ramp. There are also picnic tables and hiking trails. There is a single lane launch ramp available for $6. Rental boats are available at the marina for $20 - rowboat, $40 - motorboat. There is a 5mph "No-Wake" rule. Boats fishing at night time must have a running light visible for 360 degrees.

Fishing permits are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors. Night fishing is allowed during the summertime. Rainbow trout are stocked here during the Winter months by the county and catfish during the summer. There are also largemouth bass, crappie, redear and bluegill here. There is also a fishing float with handicap access near the marina. The lake closes for fishing August through October.
