Lake Tobesofkee is a man-made recreational lake covering nearly eighteen hundred acres, and is six miles long, with a 35 mile shoreline. Construction of the lake was begun under the direction of the Bibb County Board of Commissioners and the U.S. Conservation Service in the early 1960’s and was completed in 1969.
The lake, which is fed by Tobesofkee Creek, is stocked with a variety of fish, from several types of bass, to crappie, bream and catfish.
Fishing enthusiasts, from weekend anglers to more serious fishermen, enjoy trying their luck in the lake’s numerous covers or on open water.
Lake Tobesofkee offers accommodations for both bank and boat fishing.
All individuals over six years old must purchase a daily admission ticket or posses an annual permit if utilizing the lake.
Anglers age 16 and older must have a current Georgia Fishing License in their possession while fishing. Non residents 16 or older, regardless of physical condition, must have a valid Non Resident Georgia Fishing License to fish in Georgia, except in private ponds.
Georgia sport fishing regulations and licenses may be obtained at your local sporting goods store or bait and tackle shop.
