  • Sotcher Lake is the largest lake alongside the road into Devils Postpile National Monument. It is frequently stocked with rainbow trout by the Calif. Department of Fish and Game, but the real prizes here are huge, elusive brown trout—some weighing more than 20 pounds. Although most anglers fish from the shore, your best bet is to launch a float tube and spend a few hours casting the tules.
