Top 5 Baits for November Bass Fishing - Tips for Landing Big Fall Bass

November is a golden opportunity for bass anglers, and if you know what you're doing, it can be your best month yet. As water temps cool, bass are feeding aggressively, bulking up before winter. If you're like me, you're looking to make every cast count. So, instead of just working the bank aimlessly, let’s focus on the baits that consistently bring in results.

As seasoned anglers we’ve spent countless hours on the water in November, and we’ve narrowed down five baits that have worked time and again. Whether you're fishing down south, in the Midwest, or targeting bass in clear northern waters, these lures will help you land some trophy fish.

1. Crankbait – MONSTERBASS Seeker Series

When it comes to November bass fishing, a crankbait is a must. The MONSTERBASS Seeker Series is one of my go-to options. This bait has the perfect combination of tight wobble and erratic action, which mimics a fleeing baitfish—exactly what bass are chasing this time of year.

  • Best Colors: Ghost Minnow, Jade Shad, Orange Julius
  • Where to Fish It: Focus on mid-depth areas around rocks, submerged timber, and ledges. As the water cools, bass tend to hold around structure.

2. Topwater – Ragnar

There’s nothing quite like a November topwater bite. While some think topwater is only for the warmer months, I’m here to tell you that a well-placed topwater lure, like the Ragnar, can absolutely crush it in the fall. Use this on calm mornings or overcast afternoons when bass are still surface-feeding.

  • Best Colors: Bone, Orange Julius, Purple Haze, Chrome
  • Where to Fish It: Work this bait around points, docks, and weed edges. Don't be afraid to slow down your retrieve for those lethargic fall bass.

3. Jerkbait – Slick Stick 99

A jerkbait is an indispensable tool for fall bass fishing. The Slick Stick 99 has the perfect darting action that triggers reaction strikes from bass that are suspending and feeding on dying baitfish. This bait shines when the bass are a bit more finicky.

  • Best Colors: Ito Wakasagi, Oneida Perch, Ghost Shad
  • Where to Fish It: Cast along steep drop-offs, rocky banks, or over submerged grass. A pause in your retrieve can be just the ticket to enticing a bite when the water gets chilly.

4. Underspin – Blade Runner Spintrix with GrandeBass Kickback Shad

When the fish are holding deeper or around schooling bait, an underspin is a deadly choice. Pair the Blade Runner Spintrix head with a GrandeBass Kickback Shad for an irresistible combo. The flash of the blade mimics a small baitfish, while the soft plastic gives off subtle vibrations.

  • Best Colors for the Kickback Shad: Pro Blue Red Pearl, Electric Shad
  • Where to Fish It: Ideal for fishing deep ledges, around bait balls, and near the mouths of creeks as bass prepare for winter.

5. Jig – MONSTERBASS Tournament Series Tungsten Jig

No November bass fishing plan is complete without a solid jig. The Tournament Series Tungsten Jig excels in cooler waters, offering a compact profile that bass just can’t resist. Pair it with a GrandeBass Airtail Rattler trailer to add extra action and scent.

  • Best Colors for Jig: Green Pumpkin Craw, Black & Blue
  • Best Colors for Trailer: Trophy Hunter, Watermelon Red Flake
  • Where to Fish It: Focus on flipping this jig into brush piles, rock beds, or near docks. Let it sink, then slowly drag or hop it along the bottom for big bites.

Tip for Northern and Clear Water Anglers:

If you’re fishing in colder northern waters or ultra-clear reservoirs, the same baits apply, but tweak your approach. Scale down your presentations, use more natural colors, and slow your retrieve. Jerkbaits and crankbaits still work wonders, but focus on subtler, more deliberate movements to match the mood of finicky fish.

Give these baits a try and share your catches with us in the Trophy Room.
