The Buena Vista Lakes consist of two lakes. The largest is Lake Webb at 998 surface acres and the second is Lake Evans at 86 surface acres. They are open from sunrise to 10 pm daily. Boating is permitted on both lakes however on the smaller Lake Evans there is a 5 MPH speed limit. The lakes are restricted to a maximum of 300 boats and 125 jet-skis allowed per day.

Rainbow trout are planted during the winter months by the Mount Lassen Hatchery with some trout exceeding 12 pounds. There are also catfish, stripers, largemouth bass, crappie and bluegill here. The lakes are fed by the California Aqueduct which provides a continual flow of fish into the lakes.
