This lake is enrolled into the Community Fisheries Assistance Program. A county fishing permit is no longer required. This county lake has been recently renovated and reopened to angling in January of 2006. During the renovation many small fishing piers were constructed to improve angler access and deepen areas of the shoreline. Approximately 480 fish attracting brushpiles were placed to improve angling. Fish feeders are used to improve channel catfish growth and attract fish to areas where anglers have access thereby improving angler success. This lake supports a excellent channel catfish and largemouth population. The walleye and smallmouth populations will suprise many anglers. The maintained shoreline provides many places for anglers to access good fishing areas. There is one boatramp at the north east side of the lake. Bourbon County rents out several shelter houses/building to the public.
