Jackson Meadows Reservoir receives a good number of 10- to 12-inch rainbow trout. In addition, rainbow- and brown-trout fingerlings are also trucked in. Plants are usually made in early summer, after ice-out has occurred and snowplows have cleared the access road. Standard trolling techniques and shoreline bait dunking are popular, with okay results.

The best fishing occurs in late June, when limits are common for trollers. Fishing slows gradually after that, with the early-morning anglers having the best chance of getting a few fish for the frying pan.
