Lake Maumelle is located in the Central Arkansas region about 12 miles northwest of Little Rock. The lake is controlled by Central Arkansas Water, and was completed in 1957 by damming the Big Maumelle River to provide water for Little Rock. Swimming, personal watercraft and camping are not permitted.
