Species available in the Marion County Lake include walleye, saugeye, crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, spotted bass (state record), wipers, sunfish, bluegill, channel and flathead catfish, drum. Fishing is permitted 24 hours per day.  Scuba diving, water skiing, speed boating and personal watercraft are permitted.

A 24-hour heated fishing dock operates year-round just east of the dam, providing inside and outside fishing. Boat ramps and a public dock are available. Most of the numerous campsites have picnic tables and fire rings, some with electrical and water hookups. Toilets are located throughout the park.

The Marion County Park and Lake has a wide variety of birds that are native to and migrate through Kansas.

Marion County Lake Concessions is located at the west end of the lake above the public boat dock, and is owned and operated by Lake Superintendant Steve Hudson. It is your one-stop-shop for all your fishing and camping needs during your stay.  The Marion County Lake Hall is available year-round for parties, reunions and other gatherings.
