Silver Creek is a true spring creek located approximately 10 miles northeast of Show Low. This is the only public stream in Arizona where you can land a monster over 25 inches! Because of its elevation it tends to be extremely silty, making wading almost impossible. The banks are stable, however, and staying out of the water is seldom a problem. There are approximately two miles of riffles, pools, pocket water, and undercut banks. This fishery is loaded with Apache Trout, planted from the hatchery upstream before the season opens. Silver Creek is open only to fly fishing and is strictly catch and release. Types of Fish: Apache and rainbow trout.
