Tenmile Lake is one of Oregon's largest and most popular recreation lakes. Fishing is superb year round with species including largemouth bass, trout, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. Tenmile Creek feeds into the ocean which provides great steelhead runs in the spring and fall. The lake is also a favorite for water sports with plenty of large open areas for water skiing, sailing, swimming and more. The location between Coos Bay/North Bend and Winchester Bay in the Oregon Dunes provides easy access to some of the largest dunes on the Oregon Coast. Deep sea ocean fishing, clamming and crabbing are only minutes away.

It is the most used body of water in Coos County, and the 5th heavily used lake in the state. Both North and South Tenmile Lakes are excellent for water skiing, wake boarding, swimming, wading, sailing and boating. Outside temperatures often reach into the 70's during the summer months, and it is always enjoyable for a vacation spot or weekend outing.
