The Wachusett Reservoir is the second largest body of water in Massachussetts. The reservoir supplies drinking water to the city of Boston, which means it is heavily regulated and not all areas are open to the public. Limited access as well as an undeveloped shoreline and shore fishing only have led the Wachusett to having more state record fish than any other freshwater lake in Massachussetts.
