Eagle Lake is a lake in Lassen County approximately 15 miles North of Susanville, California. It is the second largest natural lake entirely in the state of California, United States.  It is home to the Eagle Lake trout which grow to very large sizes. The average size of these trout are about 1½ pounds and can exceed 10 pounds. It is said that the alkaline waters of the lake contribute to the size of these fish.
