East Lynn Lake is located on the East Fork of Twelvepole creek, 10 miles south of Wayne, WV, on State Route 37. East Lynn Lake was constructed primarily for flood control, water quality, fish management, and recreation. The East Lynn Dam, a rolled earth fill dam, 133 feet high and 652 feet long, serves as a flood control facility along East Fork of Twelvepole creek, and the Ohio River. East Lynn Lake is 12 miles long with 1005 acres of water at summer pool and 44 miles of shoreline. There is a total of 24,821 acres of project lands and waters at East Lynn. The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources manages 22,928 acres for Fish, Wildlife, and Forestry Management under a license agreement with the Corps of Engineers. Restrooms are located at the Project Office, Below Dam Area, Overlook Area, Lakeside Recreation Area, Lick Creek Launch Area, East Fork Launch and Campground Areas. Seasonality: April through October. Water sports permitted. Recommended baits include small insects, minnows, crustaceans, crankbaits, jigs and worms.
