3-DAY WEATHER FORECAST:
Horseshoe Lake is approximately 40 minutes by car from downtown Memphis, Tennessee and is a U-shaped (or oxbow) body of water. Changes in the course of the Mississippi River resulted in the shape. The Horseshoe Lake is a former meander in the Mississippi River that was cut off, shortening the river, and is no longer connected to the river. Horseshoe shaped lakes or oxbow lakes are not unusual in the flat plains of the lower Mississippi River and deltas of other rivers. The cypress trees, fallen timber, lily pads and numerous wooden docks that belong to lakeside homes offer anglers multiple opportunities for shallow water fishing. Water sports permitted.
Recommended baits out here include spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, topwater lures, tube jigs, Zoom Flukes, red worms and shad.
