Named for the 1852-1898 Adams County French Colony, Icaria, this 1940-acre park with a 650-acre lake, provides unlimited opportunities for water sports enthusiasts. Lake Icaria was completed in 1978 with the cost of the project shared by the Federal, State, County and City governments. The area is owned by the State but managed by the Adams County Conservation Board. Lake Icaria has a modern marina with boat rentals, a l ¼ mile ski zone, excellent year around fishing locations and a 300 foot sand beach for swimming with concessions and bathhouse. Lake Icaria has over 130 camper sites and 25 walk-in tent sites. Cabins are also available for rent. For picnicking there are five large and several small shelters available, restrooms, water, and grills are provided. Reservations are accepted for the cabins and shelters by contacting the Park Officer. Walking and hiking trails cover 6 miles of natural beauty.
