The 24th annual Cleveland County JAKES Day, organized by the Cleveland County Cutters and Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), is set for March 2 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison. This free event focuses on educating youth about wildlife conservation and responsible hunting. Activities include educational stations on shooting safety, wildlife interpretation, taxidermy, and trapping, along with various exhibits like native fish aquariums and race trucks. The event also features giveaways, including outdoor gear and survival kits, ensuring a fun and impactful day for all attendees (NWTF).
