Speaker 1:
It's here! It's here, and it's October, which means only one thing: it's my birthday month. But it's also fall, and it's time for me to break down the fall box. You know the fall: bait fish swim in shallow, big fish follow. So we're going to give you baits designed to help you fish shallower water.

Speaker 1:
Now we're busting into the fall and I do love a good lipless. And today we're featuring the brand new CXV 65 from Castaic and the CXV 75 from Castaic. I'm going to open this one. They both feature a custom pattern from Messer. This one's called Jimmy Hendrix. It's pretty dope. Love it. It's got a single thud knocker, and then it's surrounded in a separate chamber by some smaller brow bearings that are going to obviously give it another distinct rattle. These baits excel in waters that are 45 to 60 degrees and it retails at Tackle Warehouse for $8 to $9, depending on which size you get.

Speaker 1:
The next bait that we're featuring, again we're targeting shallow: the Xcite Baits XB-5. Love this bait. It swims two to five feet dive depth. It's perfect for this time of year. I'm going to open up this one. It's designed to crash through cover and still generate reaction strikes. You can see by the lip on this thing, it's a little angled, right? So what's going to happen is when it bangs into things, it's also going to slide off the side, but as you continue to pull it, it's going to fall right back in place. Great bait and Xcite, this one, goes for $8.79 at Tackle Warehouse.

Speaker 1:
Okay. The next thing. I love a good buzz bait, fall. I mean, I love fishing buzz baits anytime year. This is a different type of buzz bait. This is the Strike King Buzz King Buzzbait. And I don't know if you can see that. It comes in a variety of colors. I don't know if you can see the blade on this. So it's a little heavier, and what that's going to do is it's going to provide increased resistance and that's going to really allow you to slow this thing down instead of burning it straight through the water. So you're going to be able to slow it down and it's going to give those fish the opportunity to key in on it and just target it. Get you those strikes. Let's see, what's next here?

Speaker 1:
You know, you know this time of year I do like a good old net rig and we came out with our own net EWG. So this includes a Sabertooth EWG hook. It's available in a 1/8 ounce and 3/16. Ouch. This is a black and blue one. I'm going to hold it up for you. I don't know if you can see it. So, whoops, black and blue. Love these things. And so we included a three-pack of EWG net heads. And because we're going to do that, we wanted to pair it with some perfect plastics to match.

Speaker 1:
And so we hooked you guys up with some Net Ochos. And the cool thing about the Net Ochos, I'll actually pull one out here, pull it out. So I don't know if you can see this, but it's got these notched channels on the side. And what that does is when that drops, right, that's going to create bubbles in the water column and that's what really gives it its life-like action, right? So you put that thing on a net and you can just see how this thing's going to move. And it's going to sway with the water and those channels are just create bubbles. So you're going to like that.

Speaker 1:
What else do we have here? Kay. I wanted to feature baits from one small company. So there's a company called On the Spot Baits. They're based out of Pennsylvania and they hand-pour these baits. You can see it right there. Custom poured. These guys hand-pour these baits. We didn't go to China. No. We went to Pennsylvania to find these guys. We think they make really nice soft plastics. And this one's called a Slim Swim. It's a 3 1/3 inch bluegill flash. You drop this thing, and it floats, right? So when you drop, when you put this thing on a net head, right, you rig this thing up, this thing is just going to sway in the water and it's just going to entice those fish to come in and bite. I encourage you to try this. I know you're thinking maybe this isn't the right bait, but give it a try. I know you haven't heard of On the Spot, but it's my one small business that I'm featuring this month. American-made from Pennsylvania, small business. How can I not support that?

Speaker 1:
And then last but not least, this for you we got the Big Bite Coontail. Now a lot of people like to refer to these things similar to a ring fry, okay? So I want you to look at that bait. This is dope. When you take this out of the package, I want you to look at this carefully. So when Russ Lane designed this, he designed it to be different than other ring fries because other ring fries have this solid column that runs through in a straight line. Okay? This one doesn't. The column of material that runs through it is actually curved. And what that does is that allows when the water hits all these layers, right, it's doing so at different lengths of the column. And what that's going to do is it's going to continue to move the water. And it's what's going to give it that shimmying action. I love this.

Speaker 1:
Texas, Carolina, or on a shaky head would be my preference in terms of how to throw this thing. Probably shaky head, to be honest with you. I don't do a lot of Carolina. It's just, I don't have the confidence in it. And it's something I am committed to try more of, but that's from Big Bite. These things, oh, sorry. I didn't even tell you, these things go for $4.29 on their website. The Big Bite baits go for about 5 bucks on Tackle Warehouse. All in, we're looking at about 50 bucks worth of product.

Speaker 1:
So whether you signed up because you've got a subscription, you're paying $35 or it's your first time, and you hooked yourself up with a coupon code, good on you. Because every single one of these baits with the exception of one is available at a major retailer and the one that's not, American made. I think they're all perfect for this time of year. I think that if you have questions about how to fish these baits, we'll have videos on each and every one of them on the Monster Bass YouTube channel or on our website. And if you love this month, I can tell you that next month we're featuring a couple new baits from brands that are just crushing it on tour. And so if you've got any questions, please put them down below, sign up, tune in for Monster Bass Live, sign up for our VIP list. I give away free baits every Friday. I'm not making this stuff up.
